Boy it’s getting hot outside!!
These temperatures want to make me stay at the pool all evening long and cool off. On the days when I’m not at the pool after work, I come home to fix dinner. But in these hot days, I’ve learned a really simple tip to keep my bills down.
When it’s hot out, avoid using the oven. It’s that simple. The oven, even when closed, emits out a tremendous amount of heat and it lingers in the kitchen. Instead of sweating bullets and cranking up the AC, consider grilling out! If you can’t grill out, consider a ‘cookless’ meal.
How about these two options:

Here is a free listing of home energy & water conservation ideas.
Back in late 2007, we began collecting suggestions from hundreds of people across North America on ways they use in their own households to reduce their consumption of non-renewable energy resources through reduced consumption of electricity, home heating, home cooling, water heating and clean water.
http://dailyhomerenotips.com/energy-conservation/
To date, our growing list contains more than 500 home energy and water conservation suggeestions, including:
- 400+ are simple and easy to do
- 275+ cost absolutely nothing to do
- 115+ cost a little to do
- 120+ relate to clean water usage reduction
- 115+ relate to electricty usage reduction
- 110+ relate to home heating conservation
- 80 relate to home cooling conservation
And, selfishly, as a household reduces it's energy and clean water consumption it reduces it's utility bills month after month after month.
