Year’s Resolution Tip #9 of 12 – Rake the Leaves

Estimated Cost: About $10-$15 if you don’t have a rake

Ease of Install: Very Easy

Other Notes: We all know that gas leaf blowers are loud and cumbersome, disturbing the neighbors and electric motors are wimpy or require you to be tethered to your home 10 feet closer than you need to be. Why not go the old fashioned route and use a rake. It’s a great workout, the kids can get involved, there’s a sense of pride for a clean yard that comes with using a rake.

When surfing the internet, I happened to stumble upon a leaf collector for $100. What a fantastic concept. It’s just like a lawn mower, but sweeps the leaves into a 30 gallon debris catcher.

If anyone has one of the leaf collectors, let me know how well it works. I’m thinking about getting one myself!

Getting the neighbors kids to do it is a great way for them to collect a couple bucks to spend during the holidays.
