Help Dominion Green Power® Reach 15,000 Participants!

Since program inception in 2009, Dominion Green Power® participants have supported over 4.4 million megawatt-hours (MWhs) of local renewable wind, solar and biomass energy. That’s equivalent to taking 60,000 cars off the road for a year, or planting almost 8 million trees!

Now the program is 200 customers away from hitting their goal of 15,000 current participants before the end of 2012!

Dominion Green Power is a voluntary option available to all Dominion Virginia Power customers. It allows participants to purchase renewable energy certificates (RECs) from green power facilities in Virginia and the surrounding region.

Easy and affordable, Dominion Green Power is a great choice for Virginia residents and businesses who want to match their electricity use with green power. There’s no commitment and no upfront investment.

There are a lot of environmental benefits to supporting green energy:
  • A typical home using 1,000 kWhs per month and enrolled in the Green Power 100% Option can reduce carbon emissions equivalent to removing one and a half cars from the road for a year!*
  • The Block Option allows you to contribute at a fixed monthly cost. Signing up to participate at just $10 per month is equivalent to removing 1.2 cars from the road for a year.*
So if you want to get involved and help us hit 15,000, sign up for Dominion Green Power today!
